Merry Blogmas! Christmas Cheer in 2020

The holiday season is in full swing and I’ve got to be honest, I haven’t felt this much holiday cheer in years. Don’t get me wrong, I like the holiday season but it’s normally dominated by the hustle and bustle of planning family get togethers, coordinating holiday schedules, keeping a strict budget, and feeding into consumerism by buying gifts for everyone you love and/or associate with.

However, this year, Covid-19 has confined most of us to our individual spaces and smallest definitions of family. The unexpected isolation of this year has been tough, taxing, and devastating at times but has somehow renewed my Christmas Spirit. I am not 100% sure of how or why I think it has something to do with the reshaping of expectations…but I know that I’m going to roll with it.

This year, I am participating- for the first time ever in Blogmas, which is basically a bloggers Christmas Countdown. The idea is that you publish one post a day until Christmas or the end of December – ideally the post will be holiday related and covered in sparkles cause…Christmas, but it could be about anything!

*Yes, I know I can’t really cover my posts in sparkles. – I’m not happy about it either*

I have wanted to participate in Blogmas for as long as it has existed. I just never gave myself the permission to do so. I always made excuses like, I don’t have time, I don’t have engaging content, no one will read it, or my all time favorite I’ll just wait till I’m better. This year, I have been reminded time and time again that there is no time like the moment you’ve got right now. So, I’m doing it. I know everyday won’t be perfect and at times I will feel like a fish out of water but I am going to do my absolute best. Plus, I am excited to see what comes out of this content blast and I needed another place to share all of this newfound Christmas Spirit! So… prepare yourselves.

I’m planning a hybrid of posts some holiday related, some deeply honest, some new to me some new to you. It won’t just be YAY Christmas all the time, especially considering how much I like Hanukkah and Kwanzaa… It will be probably a million things at once, just like I like it. Feel free to comment any topics you would like to see as well!

That being said, I hope you all will join me on this Blogmas journey and on the journey of finding some holiday cheer in the midst of what has been for many of us a challenging year. I’m excited to be participating and to have friends like Britt of Sidewalk Wonder participating as well!

Have you been finding some holiday cheer in this season? If so, how?

If not, I understand and feel free to share why if you’re comfortable.

Also, If you’re participating in Blogmas post your website below and I’ll put you in my daily reading rotation!

Love Always,

J
